ABOUT ELIJAH:

I am Elijah Thomas, a student athlete at Sunrise Mountain High school. I am a senior and have been on the Varsity basketball team since my freshman year. During my high school career, I have received numerous awards for my abilities as a basketball player. In addition, I am a player on the club basketball team, Arizona Magic Elite. This team has an active schedule where we participate in local tournaments as well as out of state tournaments. On the court I play multiple positions; point guard, shooting guard, and forward.

I strive to be successful in basketball by continually learning and improving my athleticism in addition to striving to be a dependable leader on and off the court. This year I have been focused on improving my academic standings by increasing my grade point average. I was successful in doing so last year by making the honor roll.

I enjoy giving back to my community by participating in activities such as feeding the homeless through my church outreach program, and helping to set up a dinner for the families of fallen officers during the Christmas season as my team’s community service event. I consider myself to be reliable and most Sundays I am ushering at my church. I had the opportunity to do this since I was ten years old. I also consider myself to be an explorer who likes to travel and meet new people. I have traveled domestically to 10 states and internationally to Antigua. In addition, I had the opportunity to complete a two week Outward Bound Wilderness and Urban expedition course during the summer of 2014.
